The (new) places of urban regeneration

Abstract

This contribution explores the relationships between urban re generation programmes and the descriptions of deprived neighbourhoods. It draws on both theoretical reflections on the contribution of policy instruments to the construction of problems they are meant to deal with and empirical work on the implementation of a specific area-based initiative.
